Sabah opened at selected movie theatres in Canada on May 27, 2005. 
Sabah "chronicles the romantic awakening and middle-aged coming of age of Sabah (Arsinée Khanjian), a Muslim-Canadian woman who, at the age of 40, lives only to care for her aging mother. When her controlling brother gives her a photograph of herself swimming with her father as a child, Sabah decides to sneak away and shed her veil to take a dip at the local pool.
