Il Turco in Italia
Maria Callas recorded Rossini's Il Turco in Italia for EMI in Milan from August 31 to September 8, 1954.

John Ardoin wrote of this recording:  "The role of Fiorilla is that of a scheming vixen who delights in her womanliness and her ability to manipulate men.  Callas plays her as thoroughly mischievous, enjoying to the full every ounce of attention extracted from her husband and suitors."

The conductor, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, cut some recitatives as well as Zaida's bolero, Narciso's aria, the ballet music, and the second waltz at the Third Act party
