On July 25, 2003, I visited the Jeanie Johnston, which was docked at Rowes Wharf in Boston.  The ship is a re-creation of a ship built in Quebec in the nineteenth century that was used to transport Irish emigrants from Ireland to North America during the years 1847 to 1858.  The ship is relatively small. Yet the original ship is said to have carried as many as 254 passengers, in evidently quite cramped conditions.  The current ship is licensed to carry 40 people.

Below are some photographs that I took.

I also took a couple of photographs
yesterday.
