Maria Callas stars in an interesting and moving 1954 studio
recording of La Forza del Destino, masterfully conducted by Tullio
Serafin, with Richard Tucker, Elena Nicolai, Renato
Capecchi, and the Chorus and Orchestra of La Scala, Milan. This recording was made with some cuts in
the score. It used to fit on 3 LP’s at
a time when most recordings of this opera were on 4 LP’s. So, if you are planning to get only one
recording of the opera, perhaps this is not the one that you would want. Available
